Police issue US four digit serial number Colt Auto Ordnance Model 1921 .45 ACP caliber Submachine gun with case. JHB (John H. Barrett) inspector stamp on right side of receiver. Serial number matches on lower and upper receiver. Four stick magazines. One magazine stamped patented Aug. 24, 1920 - Aug. 24, 1920-Jan. 11, 1921. Three magazines stamped Auto ordnance Corp. Drum magazine stamped Auto Ordnance Corporation West Hurley New York USA with Thompson trademark. Detachable butt stock with oiler in storage. Blue felt lined case with Kasekraft placard. 1976 sales brochure and price list from Law Enforcement Ordnance Company of Athens, GA listing this item from the Brunswick, Maine Police Department. NOTE: This item is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as a National Firearms Act (NFA) weapon. It is fully transferable on an ATF Form 3 or Form 4. Caliber / Gauge: 45 ACP Barrel Length: 10.5" Serial Number: 3176 Classification: Class 3 Condition: Retains approximately 85 percent of its original finish with light scuffs and scratches. The bore has light wear with good rifling. The grip has 0.3” U shaped crack in front by trigger guard. The butt stock shows light wear with light scuffs and abrasions. Mechanically good. Case has light wear with edges peeling back.
