US Office of Strategic Services Colt Model Detective Special .38 Special caliber revolver with Colt letter. 2025 Colt letter detailing original shipment to the Property Officer Supply Division OSS in Rosslyn VA on June 14, 1944. Serial number matches on frame and crane. Left side of barrel stamped 38 Detective Special. Right side of barrel stamped with two line address and patent dates. Rampant Colt on left frame. Checkered wood grips with Colt medallions. Black leather holster. Caliber / Gauge: 38 Special Barrel Length: 2" Serial Number: 477907 Classification: C&R / FFL Condition: Overall very good with 75 percent original blue remaining. Light scuffs, scratches, and spots of minor oxidation throughout, with a mottled patina taking over. The cylinder has a light but defined dragline with spots of minor oxidation. The bore has light wear with good rifling. Grip checkering is worn down. Mechanically functions as it should with bank vault lock up when trigger is held to the rear. Leather holster has light wear.
