This antique clothbound edition of Young Wife’s Book is an interesting mid-19th century volume offering period advice on marriage, domestic life, religion, etiquette, and household management. The title page bears a handwritten notation of “about 1850,” and the front endpaper includes a Christmas 1968 gift inscription. The original brown embossed cloth binding shows heavy age and wear with fraying, staining, edge wear, and a weakened spine. Interior pages exhibit foxing, toning, stains, and age-related wear, with some damage to the front endpaper, but the text appears generally present and readable. A fascinating piece of Victorian social history, suitable for collectors of antique books, women’s history, genealogy, or decorative library displays.
