Antique folding wooden surveyor’s tripod featuring a cast iron head marked “Hopkins Bilgraph” with an original brass manufacturer’s identification plate. Constructed of hardwood with iron hardware, adjustable leg spreaders, and folding design for convenient transport and storage. A wonderful early surveying, engineering, or industrial tool displaying an attractive aged patina from years of use. The brass plate is present but worn and difficult to read. Tripod remains a desirable decorative and collectible piece for surveying, engineering, architectural, or industrial tool collections. Exhibits expected age-related wear, finish loss, scattered scratches, and oxidation to the metal components consistent with age and use.
