This is a VERY rare / scarce platter, likely a meat serving platter from 1880's and was made from 1889 thru 1910. This is a hand painted porcelain platter, blue willow and is 10" x 14" and has NO Major chips, cracks or breaks. Because it's hand made in late 1800's it's NOT perfect and has design flaws which also makes it more desireable. There are a few tiny blemishes but nothing terrible, just look at photographs!! Marked on bottom "N.S. & S. - New York - Saxxony 508" which was made by Villeroy & Boch in Dresden Germany. The NY comes from the stamp as it was exclusively distributed by Lazarus Straus & Sons in New York!! Approximate value is $175+
