I guess we could call this NEW OLD STOCK. Unopened Levi Garrett with paper label of Scotch and Rapee. The 3 dots molded onto antique snuff bottles carry historical significance and a bit of folk legend: Tobacco Strength: According to long-standing tobacco lore, the number of raised dots on the bottom of the bottle indicated the strength or flavor profile of the snuff. Zero dots typically meant a very mild blend, while four dots represented the strongest variety.Aiding the Illiterate: In the 19th and early 20th centuries, literacy rates were much lower. Factory workers and customers could feel or look at the dots to identify the correct product formula before the paper labels were applied. 1870-1930s
