This lot features two decorative candle holders of varied construction. The first is a tall pricket candlestick made from wrought metal. The design features a central shaft adorned with stylised fleur-de-lis and scrollwork motifs, supported by a base of four out-turned scrolled feet. The piece is finished in a distressed off-white or cream paint. The top is fitted with a flat circular pan and a central metal spike to secure a pillar candle. The second item is a pottery candle holder in the circle of friends style, depicting seven stylised figures standing in a ring with their arms interlinked around a central well. The figures exhibit simple incised facial features and hair. The piece has a coarse, heavily textured surface finished with a multi-toned glaze in shades of verdigris green, reddish-brown, and cream. The underside of the base has faint and worn impressed marks and is fitted with four white felt protective pads. Metal candlestick height: approx. 35 cm Ceramic holder height: approx. 14 cm Ceramic holder diameter: approx. 20 cm Measurements read from a visible tape measure. Condition: The metal candlestick features a distressed paint finish as part of the decorative design. The ceramic holder shows evidence of previous use, including wax and soot residue in the central well. Both items are structurally sound with no visible chips or cracks.
