Vintage Indian Hand-Carved Carving Set in Case

This is a vintage hand-carved traveling carving set from India, consisting of a large carving knife and a two-tine carving fork that slide into a fitted wooden case. The case is turned from hardwood and covered with deeply carved floral and vine designs, finished with brass colored metal collars, latch style hardware, and small finial caps on the ends. The knife has a steel blade with a wood handle, and the matching fork has two long tines. The set works as a decorative or display piece rather than everyday cutlery. Condition is good with age appropriate wear. The blade shows dark spotting, staining, and light surface rust, the wood shows handling marks, and one faint stamped mark is present but hard to read. Sets like this from India, with a carved wood scabbard style case and brass trim, commonly sell in the twenty to forty dollar range depending on size and carving detail.
