The Alvarez 5044 is a highly praised vintage square-shoulder dreadnought acoustic guitar, handcrafted in Japan during the 1970s "Golden Era" of Japanese instrument manufacturing. Designed inspired by classic Martin style construction, this specific model is widely recognized in the vintage community as an aesthetic and tonal alternative to a Martin D-35. Built with a solid spruce top that mellows and matures beautifully over time. The back and sides typically feature a distinctive three-piece laminate structure using rich rosewood (or Jacaranda) separated by contrasting maple purfling lines. Comes in hard case.
