Grau, Original Coins. Original Banco Central de Reserva del Perú coins of 5 Intis, dated 1986 and 1987. Obverse: Portrait of Gran Almirante Miguel Grau, Peru’s most celebrated naval hero, honored as the “Caballero de los Mares” for his valor and humanity during the War of the Pacific. Surrounding legend: “GRAN ALMIRANTE MIGUEL GRAU”. Denomination: CINCO INTIS. Reverse: National coat of arms of Peru, surrounded by the legend Banco Central de Reserva del Perú. Dates: 1986 and 1987. Condition: Circulated, with minor wear consistent with age, yet retaining strong reliefs and detailed legends (see photos). Considered collectible quality. Notes: These coins symbolize a transitional period in Peru’s turbulent economic history, where the Inti briefly replaced the Sol de Oro. The tribute to Miguel Grau adds significant patriotic and historic value. Collectible Value: Coins featuring Grau are among the most emblematic of Peruvian numismatics, increasingly sought after by collectors worldwide. Their association with both national pride and an era of economic transition makes them highly appealing in international markets. Provenance: Private collection. Shipping: Worldwide, securely packed and shipped in protective holders.
