Barrenechea & Amazon Scene, Original Banknotes. Two original Banco Central de Reserva del Perú banknotes of 500 Soles de Oro, dated July 23, 1976. Obverse: Portrait of Raúl Porras Barrenechea, eminent historian, writer, and statesman, one of the most important intellectual figures of modern Peru. National coat of arms at center. Reverse: Detailed engraving of the Peruvian Amazon, with logging camps, river transport, and lush vegetation, symbolizing the nation’s natural wealth. Serials: BS0118142 and BP0150262 (as pictured). Condition: Both notes remain in very good state for their age; light folds and handling signs, but overall well preserved with strong colors and crisp details. Notes: Vintage Soles de Oro banknotes with Porras Barrenechea are increasingly appreciated in the numismatic market, valued for their design and their link to Peru’s cultural history.
