French provincial style secretary desk, crafted in solid oak. Beautifully executed with a carved slant-front lid, shaped bombe façade, richly carved Rococo ornamentation, and graceful cabriole legs. The fall-front opens to reveal the original fitted writing interior with small drawers and document compartments, demonstrating traditional hand craftsmanship. An outstanding example of provincial French furniture with remarkable antique character and collector appeal. Presents with an excellent aged patina, scattered surface wear, minor shrinkage and finish variations consistent with age, and overall sound antique condition. Dimensions: 37"H x 43.3"W x 17"D.
