38" H x 20" D x 21.5" W. Elegant gramophone cabinet, circa 1920s, crafted in walnut with fine satinwood string inlay, marquetry panel doors, gilt bronze-mounted corners, and tapered ebonized legs. The hinged top opens to reveal the original wind-up gramophone mechanism bearing the J. Valcke, Bruxelles maker's plaque, complete with tonearm and accessories. A handsome decorative cabinet that blends early sound technology with refined European furniture craftsmanship. A wonderful display piece for collectors of phonographs and early music memorabilia. Presents well with age-appropriate wear, scattered surface marks, and expected patina consistent with age and use. The mechanical operation has not been tested and is offered in as-found condition.
