This is a Pansy doll distributed by George Borgfeldt & Co., dating from around 1901-1903. The bisque porcelain head, made by Simon & Halbig in Germany, is finely detailed with blue sleep eyes, open mouth with teeth, and richly blushed cheeks. The back of the head clearly bears the "Pansy I Germany" marking. The doll measures 22 inches tall and features a fully jointed composition body, some areas of surface wear and age-appropriate patina. Included are period-style garments, underwear, shoes, and a bonnet.
