This early 9 inch antique German bisque character doll features the distinctive "19/0" mold mark on its shoulder, a detail used by renowned late 19th and early 20th-century makers such as Heubach, Kammer & Reinhardt, and Armand Marseille. The dolls maker remains a mystery. The doll is outfitted in a finely tailored, partially sewn-on houndstooth ensemble, ensuring a perfect fit. Its expressive face displays fixed open blue glass eyes and an open mouth with inset teeth. The doll's kid leather body is typical of its era, while its bisque head and expressive features highlight the artistic craftsmanship of German dollmakers. The body, hands, and legs show age-appropriate wear, and the hands have some cracks. This piece is a significant example of German dollmaking tradition, reflecting the skilled techniques and distinctive designs that collectors value. **Shipping Notice: Due to the delicate nature of the doll's sleep eye mechanism, any shipped doll will arrive with the wig and skull cap removed, and the eyes secured to help minimize the risk of damage during transit. Please expect this if you require shipping. Because of the additional time and care required to prepare the doll for safe shipment, an additional handling fee may apply. These dolls are exceptionally fragile, and while we take the greatest care in packing and securing every item, shipping always carries an inherent risk. By requesting shipping, you acknowledge and accept the possibility of damage that may occur during transit.
