67-piece German silverplate flatware set housed in its original green felt-lined canteen chest. Service for 10+The flatware bears the "KS 100" mark, signifying the amount of silver used in the electroplating process. A "100" designation indicates that approximately 100 grams of pure silver were used to plate a standard set of 24-piece flatware. (67 pieces in this set.) A high-quality German silverplates standard. The knives are marked "Solingen Rostfrei", indicating manufacture in Solingen, Germany, the famous center of German cutlery production. "Rostfrei" translates to stainless steel, meaning the knife blades are stainless for durability while the handles coordinate with the silver-plated pattern. The clean, streamlined design reflects the appeal of Mid-Century Modern tableware, c. 1950s–1960s. The service is in used condition with a consistent patina of fine surface scratches and moderate tarnish throughout. The wooden canteen shows minor exterior wear and retains its original treated lining.
