A large mid-century carved wood figurine depicting a whimsical elfin youth playing a violin. The figure features a natural stained wood finish to the face and limbs, while the clothing, hat, and instrument are finished in gold-tone metallic gilt. A decorative satchel with a gold-tone chain and faux pearl accents is slung over the shoulder, and the figure stands on an octagonal metallic-finished base.Height: 21.5 inches.The tip of the pointed hat is broken and missing. There is scattered wear and finish loss to the gilded surfaces, particularly on the hat, shoulders, and shoes. The wooden legs show minor scuffing, and the metallic base exhibits surface oxidation and verdigris spotting.
