This split-case decorative chest is constructed from dark lacquered hardwood accented with ornate perforated brass hardware and corner plates. The exterior is embellished with four circular cloisonne enamel medallions depicting traditional motifs of deer and birds amidst stylized clouds. The folding case opens via rear hinges to reveal four stacked drawers lined with red flocking.Height: 5.25 inchesLength: 10 inchesDepth: 5 inches.Good condition with minor surface scuffs and light finish loss along the edges. The brass components show minor tarnish and oxidation consistent with decorative use.
