Estimate: 1 / 1000 Two pieces of Civil War-related sheet music, including Major General Geo. E. Pickett's Celebrated Charge at the Battle of Gettysburg (1888), issued to commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of Gettysburg and featuring a lithographic portrait of General Pickett on the cover. The lyrics recount Pickett's Charge and the disastrous losses suffered by his division on July 3, 1863. Also included is General Grant's Grand March (ca. late 1880s), featuring a detailed lithographic portrait of General Ulysses S. Grant on the cover. Though the march was originally published in 1862, this later issue bears the imprint of J.H. Bufford's Lithography, Boston & New York. Both pieces retain attractive illustrated covers and represent appealing examples of late nineteenth-century Civil War commemorative sheet music honoring two of the conflict's most celebrated commanders. General age toning and light wear, with the Grant sheet showing some edge reinforcement; illustrations remain bright and well-preserved. Condition: Good to Very Good.
