Antique Japanese porcelain plate. Decorated with hand painted brown and gold berries and leaves in the center surrounded by Asian figures. Hand painted brown and gold berries and leaves around an apricot border. Gold gilding along the edge. Signed on the base in red, Arita Hichozan Sindo-Sei, late Edo Early Meiji 1860 to 1880. This trademark was used by merchant Tashira Monzaemon of the Mikawachi Kilns. Has wear consistent with age and use, and wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition.
