Coalport Hand Painted Girl In Black Dress Pink Urn

Fabulous porcelain bone china urn or covered vase. The center portion of the urn has a hand painted scene of a girl in a black dress holding a hand fan and sitting on a stone wall in a garden framed in raised gold gilt floral scrollwork. The central portion has a yellow background. The shoulders, neck and base are decorated in pink with hand painted small faux ovals framed in raised gold gilt floral scrollwork. With gold gilding to the handles and finial and gold highlights to the relief molding. Has a larger hand painted faux marble circle on the back framed in gold gilt breading and raised floral scrollwork designs. Marked on the bottom England Coalport AD 1750 with a crown. This mark was used between 1891 and 1920. Has crazing typical of British bone china, minor wear to the gilding, and a small chip to the bottom edge of the lid where it sits inside the top of the urn and is not visible upon display. Otherwise good condition with no additional chips or cracks. Measures approximately 6 3/4 inches wide from handle to handle x 12 1/8 inches tall to the top of the lid finial.
