Rare antique British black basalt portrait medallion of Maximinus Thrax. Impressed under the portrait Maximinius. Impressed Wedgwood on the reverse. Circa 1780 to 1795. Has a chip and a small flake to the front edge and a few small flakes to the back edge, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 1 3/4 inches wide x 2 1/8 inches tall.
