Mold blown flint glass decanter possibly Boston & Sandwich. It has a shell and ribbing pattern shown in McKearin in group V-8. *** Note damage to original stopper. The bottom is missing and has a radiating crack.*** It still shows well on one side. There is also a heavy film on the bottom of the bottle. Otherwise, the bottle is in good condition. Unpolished rough pontil. Circa 1830s. This pattern and bottle was reproduced by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the 1970s. Measures approximately 11 inches tall with stopper and 5 inches wide.
