Antique German porcelain tea cup with entwined handle and saucer. Decorated with a hand painted Watteau courting couple scene framed by gold gilding. Has a cranberry background. Gold gilding along the edge. Marked on the bottom with a hand painted blue crossed swords mark. Has two slashes through the mark indicating second quality and/or decorated outside the factory. Has some wear to the gilding and a few small inclusions and dark spots in the body on both pieces, some small in manufacture firing separations in the bottom of the handle, and a large chip to the front edge of the saucer. The cup measures approximately 4 inches wide including the handle x 2 3/8 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 5 inches wide.
