5 Year old Mare - 14.2 HH Cookie is the definition of a willing partner. From the very beginning, she has approached every new experience with a quiet curiosity and a kind heart. While she can take a moment to think things through, she consistently chooses to trust, making her a joy to work with and an exciting young Mustang to watch develop. She has made incredible progress in a short amount of time. Cookie loads into the trailer like a seasoned horse, has been ponied on multiple trail rides, and has handled new environments with confidence. She completed her first 7-day camping trip, where she was ponied for over 50 miles of mountain trails. Throughout the trip, she remained calm, willing, and eager to learn, gaining valuable experience with every mile. Cookie absolutely loves the water and confidently walks through creeks, lakes, and puddles without hesitation. She also shines on an obstacle course, carefully working through each challenge with curiosity and confidence. Whether it's navigating bridges, stepping over obstacles, or exploring new situations, she approaches each task with a willing attitude. She has stayed on a regular hoof care schedule. Every training session builds on the last, and she continues to become more relaxed, responsive, and trusting. Cookie would likely already be under saddle if not for an unexpected setback on my end. I was involved in a car accident and then became sick for several weeks, which put me behind in her training schedule. That delay is no fault of Cookie's. She has accepted the saddle beautifully and has handled every step of the process with confidence and a willing attitude. She has shown me every indication that she's ready to continue progressing, and I'm excited and hopeful to get a few rides on her before the competition. One of Cookie's greatest qualities is her willingness to learn. She isn't the type to overreact or fight every new lesson. Instead, she thinks, processes, and tries her best. She has a kind eye, a sweet personality, and a calm demeanor that makes people naturally gravitate toward her. As she continues her journey, Cookie is growing into a versatile partner with endless potential. Whether her future includes trail riding, ranch work, obstacles, or simply becoming someone's trusted companion, she has all the qualities to excel. She is proof that patience, consistency, and trust can create an incredible partnership, and her story is only just beginning.
