Antique Fiddle-Back Rocker & Captain's Chair

Updated August 6, 2026

Featured in this lot is this pair of antique Fiddle-Back Rocker and Captain's Chair circa 1890-1920. This pair of antique wooden chairs showcases two distinctly popular American furniture styles from the late 19th to early 20th century. On the left stands a classic fiddle-back rocker, featuring a wide, contoured back splat and decorative turned-spindle styling built for relaxed comfort. Beside it rests a sturdy Captain's chair, recognizable by its thick, rounded horseshoe-shaped back rail and heavily contoured saddle seat designed for utility and durability. Together, their richly aged patinas, scuffs, and distinct silhouettes form a nostalgic visual duo that exemplifies early commercial woodworking and timeless rustic charm. The chairs are sold as is.
