A bookend with the profile of a sphinx was influenced by the King Tut discovery in the 1920s. It has a bronze patina with a polychrome painting. The base is flat and has an old blue felt. The bookend is unmarked. MEASUREMENTS 4 ½" (11.4 cm) wide x 1 ¾" (4.4 cm) deep x 3 ½" (8.9 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 2.9 oz (550 g) CONDITION There are no breaks, dents, or cracks. The patina is intact. The polychrome finish shows only modest wear. The base felt is likely a replacement, but still shows wear. A heavy, useful, and decorative bookend with a Tutmania design.
