A colorful, shiny Chinese Imari dish with alternating panels of iron red, gilt floral designs and underglaze blue, iron red and gilt floral designs. The dish is translucent when held to a light. The cobalt blue used is a lighter blue. The dish has a shallow unglazed foot with refined, white clay and a glazed base. The dish is unmarked. MEASUREMENTS 5 3/16" (13.2 cm) diameter x 7/8" (2.2 cm) tall. Weighs 3.9 oz (110 g) CONDITION There is a tight hairline from the rim and is visible on both sides of the dish. There is a small rim chip, glaze frits around the mouth rim and rough areas on the foot. There is wear to the gilding, the iron red enamels, as well as wear to the central well. There are kiln flaws like pin hole reserves and bumps. A colorful, delicate dish to add to your collection or add a touch of age to the décor.
