A set of four colorful porcelain stacking food dishes decorated with flowers, foliage and one lone butterfly on the lid. Two of the sections have turquoise backgrounds. One section has a yellow background and the lid has a blue background. There is some shading to the flower petals. They were each hand made and hand-painted. The background glazes are thin and show running and pooling The lid features an attached metal ring handle. The pieces are numbered in Chinese characters and have unglazed white ridges that fit together seamlessly. The rims of the mouths are also unglazed. A red "MADE IN CHINA" stamp, with some stencil misses, is visible on the three dishes. MEASUREMENTS 4 ¼ in (10.2 cm) diameter x 3 7/8 in (9.8 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 7.2 oz. CONDITION There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repairs. The dishes stack well together. They have the typical kiln flaws, such as pits and glaze misses. There is what looks like a small rim chip on the edge of the lid, but it has been glazed over, which indicates it's a manufacturing flaw.
