Lot includes the complete Robert Haviland & C. Parlon “La Chasse à la Licorne,” or “The Hunt of the Unicorn,” six-plate series made in Limoges, France. issued annually from 1971 through 1976, measure approximately 9¾ to 10 inches, and have gilt rims. The decoration reproduces scenes from the medieval Unicorn Tapestries now displayed at The Met Cloisters. CONDITION: Plates appear clean and well preserved, with no chips or cracks. VALUE: A current six-plate retail set is offered at $265, while another is listed around $320. Also included: (2) large traditional hurricane-style candleholders featuring removable clear glass shades with wide flared rims and substantial tiered brass-tone metal bases. The glass openings measure approximately 11 inches across and stand approx 19' tall. CONDITION: Glass appears free of obvious chips or cracks. Bases show scattered patina, spotting, scratches, and general age-related surface wear. Protective felt bottoms are present, with one felt pad partially detached as shown.
