Offered is Department 56 The Heritage Village Collection Dickens' Village Series "The Grapes Inn" 5th Edition, 1996 Lighted Porcelain. The building depicts a waterfront inn with yellow upper story and green shingle roof with snow accents, brick chimneys, signage "THE GRAPES OLD, MILD & BITTER ALES" over arched entry with life preserver detail, side sign "FISH & CHIPS" on stilted wood structure, upper windows with bay and grape cluster detail, green garland trim, wreath, rear cream-colored tower with balcony and stone base, exterior stairs, and three green rowboats on a snow-textured base. Includes small detached gold-tone hanging sign with black post as pictured. Marked on bottom "DICKENS' VILLAGE SERIES 'THE GRAPES INN' Fifth in an ongoing edition of historic buildings endorsed by the 'Charles Dickens Heritage Ltd. Foundation' Charles Dickens, the Victorian novelist (1812-1870), while traveling, visited inns reminiscent of The Grapes Inn. 5th Edition Limited to 1996" with Department 56 1996 emboss and inspection sticker. Measures approximately 6" tall x 7" wide x 5" deep per rulers shown. Comes in original green Heritage Village Collection box with Styrofoam insert. The porcelain shows light surface dust, minor paint scuffs, and a fine hairline to the rear cream tower consistent with production and handling as shown; no large chips or breaks noted in photos. Base shows light soiling. The detached sign shows light wear. Light cord not pictured and not included unless shown; lighting not tested.
