This lot features three landscape etchings on paper by Ernest C. Rost. The scenes include The Old Elm Road, a rural vista titled By the Hillside, and an untitled work showing a farm building with two horses. Each print is signed in the plate E. C. ROST 1890 and bears a cursive inscription reading Etched by Ernest C. Rost. The upper plate margins are printed Copyright 1890 by Fishel, Adler & Schwartz, New York. Each work includes a small remarque illustration in the lower left margin. The largest sheet measures 24 x 34 inches. The prints exhibit significant overall toning and foxing. Severe water staining and tide marks are prominent along the lower edges, particularly on the barn scene. The paper shows mat burn lines, creases, small edge tears, and adhesive residue.
