Tin Wind-Up Monkey, Yone, Japan

Vintage Japanese tin wind-up monkey — orange lithographed tin with a red, black and white striped shirt, a white oval medallion with a red "M" on each side, a rainbow-striped cap, big blue eyes, and translucent orange-red plastic feet. Marked at the base of the body with the diamond "YONE" logo over "MADE IN JAPAN" (the underside also carries the printed number "2075"). About 3 1/2 in. tall. The wind-up key is present, with rust and tarnish as photographed. The mechanism is UNTESTED — sold as a collectible display piece. Condition: colors still bright, with scuffs and small paint losses on the shirt, a whitish wear patch on the back, a small chip on one ear and speckling on the muzzle, all shown in the photos; both plastic feet are intact and glossy.
