Title: All-Over Poured Abstraction in Black and White on Vermilion Red Technique: Oil on canvas Measures: 36 x 47 inches (91.4 x 119.4 cm) Year: Undated Condition: Appears in generally good visual condition based on the photographs supplied, with intense, saturated coloration and densely layered, glossy skeins, pools, and spatters of black and white paint standing in relief across the surface. No significant paint losses or tears are apparent in the available images. Minor surface irregularities, light handling marks, and age-related wear may be present. Condition is described from the photographs supplied. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the condition description. Provenance: Private Collection Visual Description: A large horizontal, all-over abstraction in which a dense web of poured, dripped, and flung paint spreads across a ground of saturated vermilion and scarlet red from edge to edge, without a single focal point. Heavy black skeins form the dominant structure, ranging from thick, pooled ribbons and clotted blots to fine, whiplike filaments that loop, arc, and cross the canvas in all directions. Interwoven with them, skeins and splashes of bright white weave through the composition, gathering in places into broad, foamy passages, particularly along the upper left and lower edge, and thinning elsewhere into delicate, hair-thin lines that lace across the red. Countless small droplets and spatters of both black and white punctuate the surface, adding a sense of speed and energy. The stark three-color palette heightens the contrast: the black reads as a dense, almost calligraphic network, the white as flashes of light, and the red as a glowing field that pulses through the gaps. The rhythmic layering of trajectories, the evident physicality of the pouring, and the even distribution of energy across the surface reflect the visual language of Abstract Expressionism and its gestural, action-based tendencies. The lower right bears a painted inscription, partially legible in the photographs, that appears to read "Jackson Pollock." This composition reflects stylistic elements commonly associated with major figures in modern and contemporary art.
