This is collection of vintage household reference bundle consisting of Better Homes and Gardens Step-by-Step Household Repairs and Betty-Anne’s Helpful Household Hints, Volume 1. Both are practical, money-saving household guides from the early 1980s. Overall Fair to Good vintage used condition. Both books show considerable age and handling wear. Covers have rubbing, scratches, creases, edge wear and worn and bumped corners. There is no obvious writing or highlighting and bindings are intact. This bundle includes: 1. Better Homes and Gardens Step-by-Step Household Repairs — Better Homes and Gardens/Meredith Corporation, Bantam Books edition, May 1983. ISBN 0-553-19366-X. This illustrated DIY manual gives step-by-step instructions for common home repairs. Subjects include walls and ceilings, drywall and plaster, floors and stairs, windows and screens, doors, electrical repairs and plumbing. It also covers repairs such as broken glass, squeaky floors, damaged tile, clogged drains and leaky faucets. Because it is a 1983 guide, electrical, plumbing and code-related instructions should be checked against modern safety standards. 2. Betty-Anne’s Helpful Household Hints, Volume 1 — Betty-Anne Hastings with Mary-Beth Connors, Ventura Books, copyright 1983. Original cover price $3.95. This 127-page household-tip book contains economical shortcuts and practical suggestions for everyday living. Topics include cleaning, clothing care, pets, children, gardening, vacations, recycling, food/kitchen matters and other household chores, with an emphasis on saving time, money and effort. The Better Homes and Gardens book has noticeable cover soiling and heavier corner and edge wear. Helpful Household Hints has substantial age-toning/browning to the page block and interior pages, along with cover and spine wear. Bindings appear serviceable and pages shown remain readable.
