Title: Lovers with Flowers Beneath an Autumn Tree Technique: Oil on canvas Measures: 20 x 16 inches (50.8 x 40.6 cm) Year: Undated Condition: Appears in good overall condition, with vibrant coloration, expressive brushwork, and clearly defined figurative elements. Minor surface irregularities, light handling marks, and age-related wear may be present. Presented in an elaborate wooden frame with dark ornamental relief detailing and visible wear to portions of the decorative finish. The reverse displays an aged canvas support with scattered discoloration and staining. Not examined out of the frame. Condition is described from the photographs supplied. It remained with the same collector until 2016, when it was sold privately to an european collector. Visual Description: A romantic figurative composition depicts a couple embracing beneath a brilliantly colored autumn tree in a dreamlike village landscape. The taller figure, wearing a deep purple coat and matching hat, gazes toward the distance while holding a woman with flowing golden-green hair who rests her head against his chest. The woman cradles a large bouquet of red, yellow, white, and violet flowers, creating a vivid focal point in the foreground. Behind the couple, a rounded tree with orange, yellow, and crimson foliage rises against an intense blue sky illuminated by a small crescent moon. Red-roofed village houses occupy the lower background, accompanied by two brightly colored roosters that introduce a whimsical, folkloric quality. The figures are rendered with elongated proportions and softly modeled facial features, while the surrounding landscape combines expressive brushwork with saturated passages of color.
