A vintage folk art wooden gravity-powered pendulum toy featuring two caricatured male figures in 19th-century attire. The figures are depicted with top hats, brown frock coats with yellow frogging, and yellow breeches. The figures are jointed at the shoulders and hips, mounted between two parallel yellow-painted wooden slats. The mechanism includes a central rough-hewn wooden pivot and a blue and yellow striped fan-shaped pendulum weight connected by cotton string. When set in motion, the swinging weight produces a reciprocating sawing or pumping movement. The toy includes hand-painted details and small green felt accents. Dimensions (measured against a ruler): Length approx. 34 cm (only inches visible on scale). Condition: The item is in a well-used vintage condition with significant paint loss, scuffing, and chipping, especially to the edges of the figures and the yellow slats. The wood shows surface grime and minor cracking consistent with age. The cotton stringing is aged and may require adjustment for smooth operation.
