Beautiful antique Russian-style 84 zolotnik silver cigarette case featuring elaborate floral engraving, intricate blackened scrollwork decoration, and a central oval cartouche surrounded by a decorative border. The rectangular case features a hinged lid and a gold-washed interior, with multiple hallmarks stamped inside, including the Russian 84 silver standard indicating 87.5% silver content. Additional assay and maker's marks are present but have not been fully identified. The ornate design and decorative metalwork are characteristic of Imperial Russian silver accessories from the late 19th to early 20th century. Measures approximately 4" tall. The metal has also tested positive for silver content. Displays natural tarnishing, patina, scratches, interior discoloration, and wear consistent with age. An appealing collectible for enthusiasts of antique Russian silver, niello-style decoration, European decorative arts, and vintage cigarette cases. Exact maker, date, and origin have not been independently authenticated. See photos for condition and details.
