This contemporary work by George Peter is a pointillist composition titled Windows, featuring dense applications of blue, green, and white pigment on stretched canvas. The artist signature george peter appears in lowercase cursive at the lower right. The reverse side includes the title, artist name, and the size 24 x 30 inscribed in black marker, along with a label from Bianco Gallery in Buckingham, Pennsylvania. Good condition. The silver-toned frame shows minor scuffing. About the Artist: George Peter (American, 1922–1995) was a New York painter and World War II veteran who studied at the School of Industrial Arts and Brooklyn Museum Art School. Following his military service, Peter pursued painting professionally and later maintained a studio in Scarsdale, New York. His work was exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the 1964–65 New York World's Fair and galleries in New York and Greece. Peter received numerous awards for his paintings, and his work entered several institutional collections. His later paintings are characterized by distinctive color, texture and highly patterned applications of paint.
