set with Diamonds and Rubies. 4.5*4.2cm Wt: 12.8g French antique jewel dating to the Art - Nouveau period, circa 1890 - 1905, crafted in 18 - carat gold. Modelled as a dynamically coiled high - relief Chimera mythical beast, with finely chased scales and wing details embodying the fluid organic aesthetics of Art - Nouveau. Its outstretched wings pave - set with natural rubies. The creature's jaws hold an old - cut diamond, and a freely swinging ruby pendant hangs underneath.
