Make: Springfield Model: Model 1903 Caliber: 30-06 Action: Bolt Barrel: 24 Bore: Bright Serial # 1461760 Condition: Good This is a beautiful, period-correct custom 1934 Springfield M1903 .30-06 hunting rifle (Serial Number: 1461760) crafted by master gunsmith Bernard N. Elliott. This guild-level sporter features a highly safe, desirable 1934 "high-number" Springfield receiver paired with a rugged, military-proofed replacement barrel ("P" and crossed cannons under the wood) and a premium banded front ramp sight. The rifle is housed in a deluxe vintage checkered stock showcasing classic 1960s/70s styling, including a custom diamond inlay and a Pachmayr recoil pad. True to his signature style, Elliott hand-engraved his initials, "B.N.E.", onto the bright-polished, silver hinged bottom metal. Topped with a vintage Redfield 2x-7x scope with clear optics, this rifle is a stunning piece of American custom gunsmithing history. Note: Showing its authentic vintage character, the white line spacer on the pistol grip cap is currently missing, and there is a minor, typical age-related gap where the wood meets the black forend tip due to natural shrinkage over the decades. Please use photos as final judgment before bidding.
