Make: Browning Model: Lightning Caliber: 12GA Action: Break Barrel: 28 Bore: Bright Serial # 70413 Condition: Very Good Manufactured in Belgium in 1959, this high-grade over-and-under field shotgun originates from the personal collection of master gunsmith and engraver Bernard N. Elliott. Built on the iconic Superposed mechanical footprint with 30-inch barrels, the receiver retains its beautiful original factory floral scroll border engraving, seamlessly augmented with custom engraving hand-executed by Elliott himself, including his initials "B.N.E." hand-struck on the base of the trigger guard. While the forward fore-end stock and its takedown assembly remain entirely original to the weapon, the rear buttstock features custom, master-crafted upgrades including a modern squared-off pistol grip profile rather than the traditional round knob, highly figured premium high-gloss wood grain, and intricate hand-cut custom checkering. Presenting in very good overall condition with only light superficial handling scratches and minor field dings, this unique piece of custom mid-century firearms history includes a classic Browning luggage-style transport case.
