Original mid-century American landscape oil painting on canvas, signed "Irene Hicks" and dated 45 at the lower left. The Tonalist-inspired winter scene depicts a winding partially frozen stream leading through a wooded landscape toward a rustic cabin with smoke rising from its chimney, rendered in a muted palette of brown, charcoal, slate gray, and tan with visible expressive brushwork. Presented in a period molded wood frame with gilt finish and dark inner border. Dimensions: 13.5 x 17.5
