One 1853 U.S. twenty-five cent Seated Liberty quarter showing the Liberty seated obverse with a shield, arrows at the date, and thirteen stars around the border with the date 1853, and the reverse with a heraldic eagle holding arrows and an olive branch, with rays radiating behind the eagle and the inscriptions United States of America and Quarter Dol. The coin is housed in a white cardboard flip holder secured with staples, marked 1853 in blue ink on the lower edge, Arrows Rays in blue ink at the lower right, and 4628 and $55 printed on a paper label across the top. The holder shows creasing, staple marks, and surface wear with a tear in the clear window, and the coin shows heavy circulation wear, including worn surfaces, flattened details, dark gray discoloration, and a bent appearance.
