An antique square-form galvanised steel wash tub manufactured by Duro Metalwares Limited of Hamilton, Ontario, under the Eclipse brand name. The vessel features a hot-dipped galvanised finish with characteristic spangled surface texture. The construction comprises corrugated sides for structural rigidity and a base with concentric circular ribbing. It is designed with rounded corners, a reinforced rolled top rim, and two stationary galvanised iron loop handles securely attached to the sides. A partially extant paper label on the front displays the manufacturer and brand details, including the text HOT GALVANIZED, ECLIPSE, MADE IN CANADA, Hand Dipped, and DURO METALWARES LIMITED. HAMILTON. ONTARIO. Width approx. 18.5 inches (measured against a tape measure) Height approx. 11.5 inches (measured against a tape measure). Condition: The tub exhibits signs of age and utility, including surface oxidation, scattered areas of light corrosion, and accumulation of dirt. The galvanised finish shows typical dulling and wear consistent with age. The original paper label is damaged, with significant losses and peeling. The metal structure remains sound, and the handles are firmly attached.
