Appointment - Framed - Beckett LOA. Sept 26 1947 Harry S. Truman Signed Framed Presidential Appointment Beckett LOA. Condition: See pictures. Additional details: This stately appointment document has been signed by U. S. President Harry S. Truman. As remains the custom, the President signed all commissions and appointment documents, and this one, dated Sept. 26, 1947, declares W. A. Ayres of Kansas a Federal Trade Commissioner "for a term of seven years." The vellum document is free of readily discernible folding or creases and is signed by Truman in black fountain pen in the lower right corner. In addition to the President's signature, this document is countersigned by Secretary of State George C. Marshall. Harry S. Truman succeeded Franklin D Roosevelt towards the waning years of WWII. Truman was credited with deciding to use the atomic bomb on Japan… Condition and included contents are shown in the photographs
