Artist: Doyle Hostetler (American, Contemporary) Title: "Of Thunder and Lightning" Medium: Hand-Embellished Limited Edition Giclée on Canvas Edition: Numbered 54/72 Dimensions: 73 x 55 inches Signature: Signed by the artist on the face (clear gel relief signature) and signed/numbered en verso. Condition: Excellent quality; safely displayed in a rustic mountain lodge setting. An Extraordinary, Life-Sized Masterpiece of Western Wildlife Art. Offered here is a monumental, hand-embellished studio canvas print of Doyle Hostetler’s highly celebrated wildlife portrait, Of Thunder and Lightning. Measuring an impressive 72 x 54 inches, this dramatic showcase piece captures the untamed majesty and raw physical presence of an American Bison enduring a high-country winter storm. Hostetler’s signature style blends rich, deep-toned anatomical precision with ethereal, atmospheric backlighting, creating a striking contrast between the heavy texture of the bison's coat and the soft, falling snow. Far from a standard flat print, this premium canvas features a complete clear-gel brushwork embellishment. The heavy, three-dimensional impasto layer precisely follows the physical contours of Hostetler's original oil painting strokes, granting the canvas the remarkable depth, light reflection, and tactile texture of an original work. Adding to its unique provenance, the artist has uniquely added a clear-gel relief signature directly onto the face of the painting. The reverse of the canvas features the handwritten title by the artist, "Of Thunder and Lightning", alongside his formal registry signature and exclusive limited edition numbering of 54/72. Given the massive scale and low production cap of just 72 pieces, this large-format iteration represents a highly sought-after, premium edition from the artist's portfolio. Perfect for luxury rustic interiors, mountain estates, or a dedicated collection of Western and wildlife art.
