Photograph, 12 5/8 x 8 3/8 inches (sight), gelatin silver print by Ackad of Washington D.C., ca. 1967, matted above a sheet Signed by all 9 justices of the United States Supreme Court under Chief Justice Earl Warren. A photograph with the signatures of all 9 justices of the historic Warren Court, which presided from 1953 to 1969 and issued wide ranging decisions on civil rights and liberties which continue to shape the country today. The photograph captures the Court as it was comprised from 1967-69 (corresponding to the signatures under the photograph): John Marshall Harlan, Hugo L. Black, Earl Warren, Wiliam O. Douglas, William J. Brennan Jr., Abe Fortas, Potter Stewart, Byron White, and Thurgood Marshall, the first African American justice of the Supreme Court. Condition: Fine by sight, unexamined out of frame.
