Original hand-colored lithograph, 32 1/2 x 23 inches (sight), printed by Sarony & Co., matted and framed to 42 x 34 inches. A magnificent, large view of the Capitol and City of Washington by Bachmann, the pre-eminent 19th-century illustrator of bird's-eye views. Scarce: we trace no other examples appearing at auction. Condition Two small spots at top edge, faint staining in right margin outside of image, unexamined out of frame.
