AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Vintage Take Off! The Game That Teaches Geography educational board game by Resource Games, built around a large laminated world map measuring about 24" x 54". Players race fleets of small jet airplanes around the globe along colored flight routes while learning the locations of countries, capitals, flags and other geographic information. Originally introduced in the late 1980s, Take Off! became a recognized educational geography game for families and classrooms. The game was designed for 2 to 6 players or teams, with players moving colored jets across the map using special eight-sided dice and drawing country cards as they travel. The object is to complete a round-the-world flight before the other players. The large map is bordered with national flags and densely printed with international flight routes, creating a visually impressive world geography display even when not in play. The original game contents included the laminated world map, six fleets of four colored jets, country profile cards, special dice and rules. Resource Games reported that more than 250,000 copies had been sold by the late 1990s, and the game received recognition from educational and toy-testing organizations for making geography more engaging for children. This example retains the original Take Off! box, world map, cards, instruction sheet and assorted colored playing pieces, as shown. CONDITION REPORT > Seemingly complete and well preserved.
